Sampling Boosts Sales Long After The Day Of The Event

In-store sampling is an effective sales driver. In fact, a recent study in the US showed that top line, sampling did the following:

- Not only increased sales of newly launched product, but line extensions and even well established existing products;
- Has a positive "halo effect" on related merchandise, lifting the sales of non-sampled products within the parent brand's franchise:
- Recruits new buyers to both sampled items and brand franchise items

The research conducted showed the effectiveness of the demos on products at various stages of its lifecycle including new product launch, line extension and established brand. See below for the statistics:
